Campinarana

In the Amazon, natural conditions are extreme and the proximity of the equatorial zone requires an architecture oriented towards thermal comfort and "passive" sustainability: adequate footprint, protective eaves, dimensioning and orientation of cross ventilation openings, as well as preservation of local ecological systems. To preserve the pre-existing Campinarana – a type of Amazon forest -, the main architectural strategy was to minimize footprint by reversing the classic housing typology: sleeping rooms are located on the ground floor and living spaces on the upper floor.

Penetration

There is river landscape in front of the project and a municipal road on the side. Based on special condition of the project, the designer conduct space division and set an architectural wall: on the side facing the river, large area of glass curtain wall is made to open the view to natural landscape, while on the side facing the road is divided with solid wall to avoid noise. This make it possible for people to enjoy the river view from the interior area while avoiding the noise to enter the interior space. This form a complete space in which one can calm down and enjoy the view outside.

VH Green

The house is extend green in both planar and stereoscopic, that create a good environment for both residents and the city. In the sunny Asian region, Breeze Soleil using this green is a very effective way of thinking. Not only the function of the sunshade in the summer but also protection of privacy, avoidance from the street noise and cooling effect by automatic irrigation can be obtained.

Bin Gu Plaza

Bin Gu Plaza demonstrates Breathing Offices provides opportunities for the users to feel in natural instead of concrete forest. The 10-story building with elementary façade, suggesting a connection/mergence for different characteristics of surroundings in this globalized city. The irregular, distorted exterior creates the various external spaces for multi-purpose usage of each level itself. The plants and self-shaded shape reduces carbon emission and mitigates urban heat.

Yunda Central Plaza

Yunda Central Plaza is a 123,031 square meters landmark. It is an office, retail and hotel destination featuring six levels of shopping anchored by two towers. The 100 meter tall W-Hotel tower sits alongside an iconic 250 meter tall tower housing a St. Regis hotel which is one of the tallest approved skyscrapers in Changsha. This development was the fifth largest twin hotel tower project in China and the second largest in central China.

Nishisando Terrace

This condominium composed of 4 lower volume three-storied houses and standing on the site near the midtown. The cedar lattice surrounding outside the building protects the privacy and avoiding restrain degradation of building body due to direct san light. Even with the simple squared plan, spiral 3D-construction made by connecting different level private garden, each room and stair hall lead to feed the volume of this building maximum. The change of facade of cedar boards and controlled proportions may let this building continue to be organic and blend with momentarily changing in the town.
