Courtyard Drum Tower

Courtyard Drum Tower, which is next to the tallest ancient landmarks of Beijing for more than 600 years – Drum Tower and Bell Tower - is transformed from a traditional Beijing-style courtyard-Siheyuan in Dongjiaogan Hutong. The design target was to build a timeless workshop whilst embracing the surround cultural context into the yard.

Optimised for delivery and installation worldwide; insulation and technical installations make it suitable for most environments and anything from +50 to -30* Celsius. Fully self-sustained; energy, water and waste management, self-levelling installation minimises footprint. All elements detail designed to meet the highest quality standards and the unit is delivered fully furnished and with all interiors by B&B Italia. Prepared for various extensions over time. Pilotis

The Pilotis Residence design embraced the singular characteristics of its steep terrain, creating an aesthetic movement of asymmetrical volumes positioned in different levels and functions, in a modern and minimalist concept. These blocks, in concrete, were overlapped as if floating over the street level, minimizing the height of the construction. The integration of all social activities on a main level, surrounded by gardens, brought functionality and much comfort. Few internal walls and large open spaces maximized the glass panels transparency and the contrast between wood and concrete.

Fish Farm House

For the client, the sea means home, ground for living and life. So above all, architect the greatest focus was set on their relationship with the sea. Fish Farm House which represent a house greeting sea was made into structure open to the sea in order to be a shelter to keep in tune with the sea. As a one-storied house, reed field in the rear of house and mountain beyond were used as a background. In the case of exposed concrete, it is far unused material in this fishing village. However, 2m2 architects used combination of familiar materials e.g. stone and wood in order to look familiar.

Liberty

The importance of open, closed, and semi-closed spaces to circulate the audiences and sense more closely to structures, which are not only designed as structural elements, they have an aesthetic role and define spaces. for example, by designing the pedestals, we were able to provide platforms for the audiences to sit down and staircase element for further clarity which could be a link between architecture and structure. More over Use of hinge connection to show the structure light weight and prevent possible tensions. Finally Optimum design of the ceiling covering by Grasshopper plug-ins.

Inami Koro

How can architecture represent a culinary concept? The Edge of the Wood is an attempt to respond to this question. Inami Koro is reinventing the traditional Japanese Udon dish while keeping the common techniques for preparation. The new building reflects their approach by revisiting the traditional Japanese wooden constructions. All contour lines expressing the shape of the building were simplified. This includes the glass frame hidden inside the thin wooden pillars, the roof and ceiling inclination rotated, and the edges of vertical walls all being expressed by a single line.
