Folding Garden

Folding Garden is a community center located in Beijing, China. A continuous wall crosses the site in a linear and zigzag path, shaping the garden and also serving as the supporting structure. The result is a coherent indoor space without columns. A corridor running from north to south links three courtyards along a central axis. The total land area is 6421 square meters and the construction area is 1403 square meters.

Hongzhou Academy

Hangzhou Haishu

Hangzhou Haishu is a school complex that combines a kindergarten and a primary school. The campus includes teaching buildings, an administration building, a gym and a canteen. All functional spaces are linked in series by corridors and inner courtyards with different degrees of openness. Exposed stairs and dynamically shaped corridors serve both circulation and activity. The design was inspired by a child drawing of an ideal school seen as a small town. The campus of 28000 square metres is divided into 15 small gabled volumes, and each volume grows in scale with the age of the children.

A rotating open stair links four floors around a central atrium, and a folded roof plate brings daylight to the top floor. The building covers 4000 square meters and offers a place for display and exchange.

Be Amphitheatre

Every society needs space to sit by the campfire, to talk, to see, and express oneself. Amphitheatre has become a place of meaningful gatherings and speeches, a new symbol of this part of Warsaw and a fuel for change. This modern construct looks for a new angle to things already known. The outdoor scene rose to face the demand that haunts Warsaw's business district lack of open and public spaces, free of fences, allowing for casual, friendly meetings out in the open. The final shape of this building is a match made out of the classical formula of the amphitheater and green zones.
