ERC Autumn Village

The first element of the space is a vanishing bookstore, which is expressed with the concept of a "home". At the space core, there is a skylight courtyard at the center with a waxberry tree, surrounded by interlacing platforms of different floor heights, creating an open space layout. Moreover, the flexible changes of the displays and layouts suit different functions. All these resemble the image of the traditional Chinese courtyard residence, which also a place for the co-living of people, creating a sense of warmth for the urban life.

Shanxiao

The designer aimed for visitors to experience the artistic conception of ‘hidden in nature.’ the entire project has two parts, the sales office and the commercial area. the sales office is a smaller part of the building, but is executed with an exquisite and delicate aesthetic. it is naturally engraved and hidden in nature, thus highlighting the concept of ‘seclusion’.

Escape

Escape House is an unusual and unexpected concrete house in the typical town. The meaning of the Escape house is ambiguous. It has monolithic and close form on the street side while the open view to the woods.. ‘E’ means different. The house makes different scenery in the town, and the skip floor structure makes various space experience and dramatic views such as a panoramic woods view from the living room. Escape House is our final destination of escaping from ordinary daily life,

House of Tubes

The project is the fusion of two buildings, an abandoned one from the 70's with the building from the current era and the element that was designed to unite them is the pool. It is a project that has two main uses, the 1st as a residence for a family of 5 members, the 2nd as an art museum, with wide areas and high walls to receive more than 300 people. The design copies the back mountain shape, the city's iconic mountain. Only 3 finishes with light tones are used in the project to make the spaces shine through the natural light that is projected on the walls, floors and ceilings.

Soki Atami

Soki Atami is a hot spring luxury hotel located in Atami, a coastal resort town in Shizuoka, known as one of the earliest hot spring retreats in Japan. This project aims to revise the way of hot springs accommodation in a Ryokan more adaptable for the current lifestyle and to rediscover the charm of the region by creating connections between guests and local’s rich nature, culture, and people. All rooms come complete with a personal hot spring, while other facilities include a public onsen, a restaurant with a garden, and a top floor Tea Salon & Bar overlooking Atami Bay.

Fillet House

The idea was to maximise the corner lot building plinth using rounded corners or rounded edges, the filleted streamlined form in response to the tropics, designated programmes and its neighbourhood. Viewing the building from the street level, a staggered filleted mass was elevated vigorously from its surrounding. The palettes of materials combined the white, black, and grey curved solid planes with touches of timber and transparency of glasses, streamlining a form which is manly standing out within its neighbourhood.
