M1 and M2

M1 and M2 are two residential towers built as part of a larger urban development in Mississauga, Canada. M1 has 61 storeys and 780 units, while M2 has 62 storeys and 793 units. Each tower is formed from seven typical floor plate shapes that are skewed and rotated, so the corners shift about one metre from the floor below. Short shear walls follow the shift, which keeps the room layouts regular. A faceted glass podium carries a green roof and a south facing outdoor amenity space at ground and roof level.

DUSITANON

Baan Dusitanon is a four-story residence with a mezzanine level, located in a busy urban area. The building is enveloped by a facade of vertically aligned and gently twisted louvers made of high-strength aluminum. The louvers screen the interior from outside views while keeping the city visible from within. The facade also acts as a thermal buffer and frames planted areas between the screen and the walls. Each floor places semi-private living areas at the front and bedrooms at the rear. A double-height living space on the fourth floor opens toward the cityscape.

Eternal

Eternal is a residential house built on a sloping site in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. The elevation difference is used to place volumes both below and above ground, forming a continuous space from the basement to the upper floors. The basement holds a garage and a hobby room, while the living areas are above the first floor. A large opening on the south side brings in daylight and distant views while limiting sight lines from the street. The structure combines reinforced concrete below ground with large-section laminated timber and metal joints above.

Immerso

Immerso is a hotel complex located in Ericeira, Portugal. The buildings are placed within a valley facing the ocean, following the principles of southern Iberian architecture, with smaller structures scattered on the gentle slopes and larger ones on the hilltops. The complex covers 2000 square metres. Materials are limited to exposed concrete, painted surfaces in mineral-inspired colours, pine wood and painted iron. Spaces for meditation, workshops and sports are included. The design integrates the buildings into the landscape and applies sustainability measures suited to the local climate.
