Art Omi Deconstructive Utopia

Art Omi Deconstructive Utopia is a design gallery and exhibition building in the Hudson Valley, covering about 12000 square feet. The curved concrete shell was shaped by balloon deflation studies and cast with CNC-milled formwork for precise curvature. At the center, a spherical void is preserved as the main exhibition space and public entrance. A path runs from west to east, flanked by workshops and ending at the lake. Suspended studios use lightweight steel frames clad in wood. Warm timber panels line the interiors and improve acoustics.

Learning Landscape

Learning Landscape is a primary school in Shenzhen, China. The school covers 20,535 square meters and replaces the rigid classroom and corridor layout with connected indoor and outdoor spaces. Three elements inspired by nature, named the Mountain, the Valley and the Beach, organize the terraced levels. The design supports lessons, group work, play and quiet study.

The Ripple

The Ripple is a hospice proposal structured by a concentric spatial system generated from a central water court. Located in Chinatown, New York City, the design redefines end-of-life care as an urban civic experience rather than an isolated institution. Layers of thresholds, courtyards, and timber enclosures guide movement from public life toward quiet reflection. Integrated daylight, water, and passive environmental strategies create sensory calm, supporting privacy, orientation, and emotional wellbeing through architecture itself.

Amami House

Amami House is a self-sufficient residence on Amami Island, Japan, planned for a family of four. The island has a hot and humid climate with low levels of solar radiation. The house supports comfortable living without dependence on the power grid or air conditioning. Passive strategies such as natural ventilation, daylighting and insulation reduce the need for mechanical systems. The traditional hip-and-gable roof form is reinterpreted with contemporary performance features. A solar water heater, a composting system and a home garden complete a small cycle of self-sufficiency.

Tramdepot Bern

Tramdepot Bern is a tram depot with service and maintenance areas in Bern, Switzerland. The strip shaped hall is covered by a light glass and aluminium shell. White glass, a special surface structure and a staggered installation method create an expression that changes with the light. At night the building appears as a bright lantern. A shed roof of steel trusses spans the column free parking area. The structural system allows the depot to be extended in stages on the narrow site with oblique angles.
