Coexisting With Nature Clinic

Coexisting With Nature

This dental clinic was created using a design method that takes advantage of the vegetation, height difference, and depth of the existing land. TSC Architects wanted to design a clinic where patients can experience nature as if they were taking a walk on the road. They planned to leave the trees as much as possible, arrange the functions of the clinic to match the characteristics of the land, and connect them with corridors and multiple roofs. By setting the height of the floor at the center of the height difference on the site, people can feel a sense of floating and sinking into the ground.

Timeless Residence

Timeless

Inside, the house is defined by two courtyards, one large and the other small, that are arranged in parallel. The main courtyard is on the south side and features a bamboo grove that draws the eye when one steps into the entryway. A smaller slit-shaped courtyard on the north side is also dotted with plantings and serves as a lightwell, filling the first-floor living room and entryway as well as a second living room upstairs with pleasant, diffuse light.

Cross Residential House

Cross

A private residence built on a site facing two roads in a quiet residential area. The exterior, which can be seen from the outside, has an orderly form, ensuring a moderate sense of openness while protecting the privacy of the residents. The interior is moderately open and has a visual expanse. In addition, in accordance with the shape of the site, the two planes intersect at different angles in the center, and the space created here gently connects the rooms. A new blank space is created by appropriately dividing the plane, and the plan is to deepen communication between residents.

Regala Skycity Hotel

Regala Skycity

Regala Skycity is a hotel located in the Skycity area of Hong Kong International Airport. The building stands on a triangular site and follows a tripartite division of base, shaft and crown. The form was inspired by an optical crystal prism, and the reflective glass facade mirrors the surrounding sky. The external envelope uses a unitized curtain wall system, with units assembled off site to reduce construction time on site. The hotel contains 1,208 guest rooms, a swimming pool, a rooftop jogging path and three restaurants.

Villa Bianca Private House

Villa Bianca

The project consists of partial reconstruction and complete visual transformation of an existing house built in pseudo-traditional style. The main idea has been to achieve the exactly opposite effect: to have a contrasting, memorable, minimalistic and contemporary architecture. The biggest challenge of the project has been to reduce the cluster of geometries and to emphasize the constructive principle of the building by making some spatial and organizational improvements of the interior.
